Music news round-up: Weds 10 April
return with their fourth studio album Planta which will be released in the UK on June 10th on SQE Music. The album is produced by TV On The Radio’s David Sitek (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Scarlet Johansson, Santigold) and features a collaboration with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong on the first single to be taken from the album ‘Hangover’, which will be released this May.
The View have a new 'greatest hits' compilation Seven Year Setlist album which will be released on June 17th on Cooking Vinyl. The release of the album comes just days after they support Stone Roses in front of 50,000 people at Glasgow Green on June 15th. The album also features two new tracks, ‘Dirty Magazine’ and ‘Kill Kyle’.
On 27th May Japanese quartet Taffy return with double a-side 'Tumbling' & a cover of The Cure's 'Boys Don’t Cry' - both tracks taken from their second album Lixiviate, out later this year through Club AC30 Records.
French electro-pop duo Juveniles are set to release their next single 'Strangers' on May 20th. The track is taken from their forthcoming self-titled album, which is set for UK release in summer 2013.
Last year saw the release of Daniel Johnston’s first ever comic book Space Ducks: An Infinite Comic Book of Musical Greatness, his first book publishing. To celebrate the release, Johnston also put together a soundtrack for the book – his first new album since 2009. The soundtrack includes seven unreleased tracks by Daniel as well as new tracks from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Jake Bugg, Die Mason Die, Eleanor Friedberger, Deer Tick and Fruit Bats. All songs have been themed around ‘Space Ducks’ and the soundtrack will be released on 29th April (a limited edition vinyl will be released on April 20th, Record Store Day) through Feraltone.

Master Musicians of Bukkake have unveiled details of a new full-length, the follow-up to their Totem trilogy. The album is entitled Far West and is set for release in June 2013 through Important Records.
