Various - The Best Album Tracks ...Ever!

Featuring tracks taken from the sort of well-thumbed albums to grace those "top 100" polls, and stretching in year from Wouldn't It Be Nice (Pet Sounds - 1966) to Praise You (You've Come A Long Way Baby - 1998), this is a decent set of discs, even if famous singles (rather than lesser known gems) make up a good proportion of the running time. It's also mostly white boys with guitars, but there are some concessions to soul (Marvin Gaye's What's Going On), female artists (Kate Bush's Cloudbusting) and electronic music (Air's Sexy Boy). One suspects the serious record buyer will already own (or have considered owning) a fair selection of the referenced LPs, although it could be just the thing for those who scratch their head while looking through the lists in Q.
