Channel 4 To Screen SXSW Event
Nine Black Alps, Dogs and Bell X1 are filmed performing live at the Island Records party at the Velvet Spade club. The show, compered by XFM's John Kennedy, includes some coruscating live performances, backstage alcohol fuelled shenanigans, a bizarre appearance from Billy Idol and lots of Americans (say no more).
Nine Black Alps - The band have just finished recording their debut album in LA with Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, The Vines etc.). Their new single 'Not Everyone' is due for release on May 23, with their debut album 'Everything Is' following on June 6.
Dogs - 5 upstarts from the suburbs steeped in the sounds of the Clash, The Jam, Bob Dylan and John Cooper Clarke. Their new single 'Tuned To A Different Station' is released on May 2.
Bell X1 made an album last year that has driven people to change their life, hang from the rafters at huge sold out gigs, taken them to Gold in Ireland, had an invite from Damien Rice (he used to be in the band) to play with him at the Beacon Theatre in New York, and a personal invite from Keane to support them on their sold out UK tour. Bell X1 are Ireland's hottest exports of the moment.
