The Servant - Liquefy

The Servant are a band that have been going for a while yet have still to receive the acclaim in the UK that they have received universally in Europe. Most popular in France and Italy, the band have also sound-tracked the trailer for the new soon-to-be smash hit movie ‘Sin City’, based on the Frank Miller comic book. The association of which, should take them to the next level and give them a worldwide profile.

Their current single ‘Liquefy’ is a perfect crossbreed of styles. From indie-pop-rock at the start, the song then changes direction halfway through into a sub trip-hop style that seems not so much an afterthought, more the masterstroke that elevates ‘Liquefy’ into something altogether more interesting. 'Liquefy' succeeds in being catchy by having strong melodies and has a crowd-friendly sing-along part towards the end that will translate well live and leave audiences that go and see them, in raptures. It helps also when you have a singer that comes across and looks like Prince’s evil twin.

The Servant continue to progress popularity wise in Europe and maybe with this single, they may well finally make their mark and make an impact in the UK.
