Davy Jones dies at Florida home
Davy Jones, British-born lead vocalist with 60s band The Monkees, has died aged 66, his publicist has confirmed.
He died in his sleep at his home in Florida. His publicist, Deborah Robicheau, said he had a massive heart attack.
The band, which also included Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork, had hits including 'Daydream Believer' and 'I'm a Believer'. Despite the fact the band did not initially play on their breakthrough hits, they ultimately wrestled artistic control from their label and recorded several well-received albums such as Headquarters and the soundtrack to their 1968 feature film Head.
Jones began his showbusiness career in television, appearing on Coronation Street and Z Cars
