Various - My House Is Your House

With the hand of Cream involved, clubbers may not be surprised to hear this selection tends towards the more commercial end of the dance spectrum. Placing any snobbery aside, My House Is Your House makes for a fine mix. Hell, even a cover of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life turns out to be - shock! - rather good, and CD1 consists mainly of tracks in a similar funky house vein, many of which (How Would U Feel, Time, Don't Lose The Magic, Whatever) should stick in your head. CD2, switching to an electro house vibe, is slightly less poppy, with an emphasis on bleeps and beats over vocals. Highlights include Ethan's In My Heart and an almost total reworking of Mylo's Destroy Rock & Roll.

My House Is Your House stays mainly on the right side of cheesy (just!); when it doesn't, it still makes for guilty pleasure. This is the first in a series of compilations from Cream and, assuming it's a sign of things to come, dance fans are in for a treat.
