Memories Are Made of this II

February 21st will see Virgin/ EMI release Memories Are Made of this II, a double CD compilation.

Press release...

As the commercial world goes crazy seeking untapped markets and getting into the mindset / wallet of the teenies, tweenies or the elusive ‘£50 man’, the 2004 Virgin EMI release, ‘Memories Are Made of This’ quietly shifted an amazing 200 000 copies to the ‘olds’ and more than a few cool-cardigan clad youngsters too...

More Bing than Bling, this is a world of good clean fun, with perhaps a hint of cheekiness and enough good tunes to rock your rocking chair into 2006...
Memories Are Made Of This II takes us back to the future once more - there’s the bachelor’s batchelor Cliff Richard with ‘The Next Time’, Adam Faith ‘Someone Else’s Baby’, the fantastic Tennessee Ernie Ford with ‘Sixteen Tons’ and Shirley Bassey ‘As Long As He Needs Me’ amongst the 50+tracks to be found here...

These albums have no real musical agenda beyond providing great tunes that may have slipped from the public consciousness, so expect some easy listening, soul, country and every shade inbetween... Dean Martin ‘That’s Amore’, Slim Whitman ‘Indian Love Call’, Frankie Vaughan ‘There Must Be A Way’, Lou Busch And His Orchestra ‘Zambezi’ and the gorgeous Bobbie Gentry And Glen Campbell ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’.

Add Jack Scott, Tony Brent, Joe Loss, The Andrews Sisters, Eddie Calvert, Matt Monro, Bobby Vee, the mighty Ken Dodd, The Marcels, Al Martino, Helen Shapiro, Alma Cogan, Des still-got-it O’Connor and Vince Hill and you have an excellent album that could possibly crack the Werthers demographic... and beyond.
