The Dangerous Summer - War Paint

With our resident emo correspondent having gone AWOL, it is left to me to take on the latest opus from The Dangerous Summer and what is hopefully the last such album to be released this year (I would say forever but surely we can’t be that lucky can we?)

Most albums of this ilk at least try to have a modicum of variety but oh no, not War Paint where every song goes through the predictable motions: crashing guitars, oh woe is me lyrics and wailing vocals. No balls out rocker, no mobile phones in the air ballad, nada, nothing and by the time you reach ‘Everyone Left’ you are praying that, as the song says, you "slip into a coma". File in the dustbin marked dull, dreary and derivative.
