The Treatment - This Might Hurt

The Treatment have been touring the socks off over the past year or so, with appearances at summer festivals and alongside bands like Black Stone Cherry. This has all culminated in the release of This Might Hurt, an album that sees the young Cambridge rockers (the youngest having only just turned 18) exploring their clear-cut love of classic seventies and eighties rock.

This youthful bunch may not be peddling the most original sound, with tracks like ‘The Doctor’ rampaging with an AC/DC-like stomp and the glam-rock swagger of recent single ‘Drink, Fuck, Fight’, but they sure as hell do it well. The bluesy groove of ‘Winter Sun’ is a particularly strong track with screeching guitars and meaty solos driving it along. The band may be content to pillage their heroes at the moment, but who can blame them when they’re so young and this sounds so much fun.
