Band Aid is Xmas Number One

The all-star charity tune 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' has landed the number one position in the Christmas charts. The single features contributions from stars such as Dido and Coldplay's Chris Martin, as well as Bono and Sir Bob Geldof. 72'000 copies were sold on first day of release and over 300'000 have been sold to date. Prime Minister Tony Blair astonished HMV staff when he bought two copies from a store in Edinburgh.
