Nurse With Wound to headline Netaudio London 2011
The Netaudio London festival, running from May 13th – 15th, has begun to announce the programme and line up for this year’s edition. Showcasing the work of artists who use digital and network technologies to explore new boundaries in music and sonic art, the packed and varied programme encourages participation in all forms: interactive sound art installations, conferences, workshops, collaborative online broadcasting and live music shows.
For its all-day festival on Sunday 15th May at the famous Roundhouse venue, Netaudio invites the public to participate in an immersive programme including headline shows, interactive sound art installations, workshops, a conference, and interactive online broadcasting.
The evening programme on the 15th at KoKo is headlined by avant garde, surrealist Steve Stapleton's Nurse With Wound project. This rare London appearance of the current NWW lineup includes Steven Stapleton (voice, bowed and prepared guitar, CD turntables, electronics, sound FX, sundry implements), Colin Potter (Mix, electronics, computer, live processing), Matt Waldron (prepared bass, sundry implements, voice, percussion, electronics, tapes, recorded sources) and Andrew Liles (keyboards, sound FX, recorded sources, lead guitar, percussion, sundry implements).
On the same bill, Netaudio presents an exclusively commissioned live collaboration by Mika Vainio & Bruce Gilbert; the pair will utilise a plethora of table top analogue and digital equipment drawing upon the creativity of two unique musical talents and providing the opportunity for them to create new and exciting work. The third act are the Austria based trio of Radian, who utilise a re-purposing and re-recording of sound sources, microprocessed through an array of technology and configured for live performance ensemble.
