Funeral for a Friend - Welcome Home Armageddon

Having been continually criticised for straying away from the post-hardcore sound that featured on their impressive debut record Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation, Welsh rockers Funeral for a Friend have wisely returned to their roots on their fifth studio album. Incorporating beefy breakdowns and screams with soaring vocals and melodies, the 12-track release is a stunning return to form, shattering any preconceptions that you may have from their flirtations with a more mainstream sound. Produced by fellow native Romesh Dodangoda, the full-length sees the five-piece at their exhilarating and unpredictable best. Tunes like ‘Aftertaste’ and ‘Spinning Over The Island’ highlight the heavier edge of the band, whilst ‘Owls (Are Watching)’ and ‘Medicated’ tinker with the significantly softer side. This may be their best material to date which will undoubtedly go down well with fans, both old and new.
