Gay For Johnny Depp - What Doesn't Kill You, Eventually Kills You
When your band is labelled as 'spazz-core' there isn't really much you can do except push the boundaries of tongue-in-cheek hardcore, and that's exactly what Gay For Johnny Depp do best. At under 22 minutes long, you'd be hard pushed to call this their second full-length album, but nobody wants their ears pummelled for too long anyway. Sticking with what they know, GFJD kickstart the album with the brutal and unrelenting 'Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny And Artistic Integrity' and don't pause for breath until 'Cum On Feel The Boize', a surprisingly fine rendition of the Slade classic. Although it's easier on the ears than previous tracks, it doesn't lose any of the charm built up by the rest of the album. Yet again GFJD have produced a thoroughly aggressive record which, if it's your type of thing, will be a welcome assault on the ears.
