First they break ticket sites, now Take That have broken their own record

Since they went on sale this morning at 9am resulting in just general all-round ticket carnage, Take That have sold one million tickets for next summer's stadium tour.

The sales meant that the band have broken their previous record set in 2008 with The Circus Live Tour, helped by the fact that the band have now extended the tour to 23 dates. They will now play a mammoth seven dates at both Wembley Stadium and the City Of Manchester Stadium with tickets for certain dates still on sale.

"We are speechless, truly and utterly shocked. This is the most amazing news for all of us. To sell one million tickets in a day is mind blowing and we think we’ll be in shock for a few days! We want to thank everyone who has bought tickets today and look forward to seeing them next year," commented the band.

Demand for tickets earlier caused ticket outlets countrywide to jam as they tried to cope with the unprecedented demand. Thousands of fans also camped overnight at stadium box offices to ensure they were among the first to secure tickets.
