Alter Bridge - III
Myles Kennedy is a pretty clever guy: by taking the role of vocalist in legendary guitarist Slash’s live band, he’s increased the profile of his day job Alter Bridge no end. And what better way to capitalise on that than by releasing your best album yet? Not only are Kennedy’s vocals on as fine form as always, but the riffs come thick and fast. With anthems like ‘Make It Right’ you can’t go wrong, and they even go pretty damn heavy as on tracks like ‘Isolation’ with its fast, thrashy riffs and soaring solos. Despite the presence of those pesky and rather questionably bad ballads like ‘Wonderful Life’, this is a surprisingly catchy and solidly rocking record and, with a voice like Kennedy's, they can’t really go wrong.
