BOBCOM - The new media platform
BOBCOM is a new website that is part social network and part media distribution service. Aimed at aspiring artists the site's backers claim to be going head-to-head with the likes of The X Factor as a method of getting bands and artists into the public eye.
BOBCOM's liberating free initiatives allow artists unprecedented chances to quickly burst onto the music scene. The first incentive, currently live on the site, is the opportunity to win a week's recording and mastering at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, home of the Beatles.
This contest ends on October 15, with recording set for November.
BOBCOM will then launch a nationwide TV show, with a chance to gig alongside some of the best leading artists of today. This will be the first in a series of broadcast events editorially moulded and controlled not by outside entities or juries, but by the BOBCOM community itself.
BOBCOM will be officially launched at a street party on BOBFIRE NIGHT (see what they did there? Ed), Wednesday 3 November, in Hoxton Square, London, which will be attended by guests and hosts from the world of independent music, along with some surprising culture commentators.
