Monsters In The Attic - Tales Of The Worm EP

London based punk-pop trips Monsters In The Attic are very proud to proclaim their punk and metal influences and are, by all accounts, a very powerful and fun loving live act, so to release a stripped back acoustic EP seems a very strange way to try and win over new fans. Surely it would have been better to record and release the planned full electric EP first? That being said, the four songs on display are pleasant enough with tinges of their rock background as well as a spot of Americana that will sate the needs of both all out rockers and beardy types. 'Zombie Girl' is the standout with its harmonica and soulful vocal being reminiscent of a bizarre, but highly effective, splicing of Bon Jovi and Alabama 3. Overall this is a decent effort but let’s hear the ‘ROCK’ next time eh lads?
