Communion is pleased to announce details of a unique musical takeover project of London's Flowerpot venue next week. The Communion label and club night, run by Mumford & Sons' Ben Lovett, Cherbourg's Kevin Jones and producer Ian Grimble, will takeover the Kentish Town venue for 7 days, and are pleased to announce a host of bands and artists for the one-off collaborative recording process and spate of evening live shows.
The likes of Mt Desolation, Lissie, Angus & Julia Stone, Kill It Kid, Matthew & The Atlas and members of Mumford & Sons will spend the week working on new songs together, alongside a host of exciting young artists including Communion signing Marcus Foster, Kyla La Grange, and The Staves all for a future album release.
The venue will become open to the public in the evenings, for a series of special one-off live shows by the artists that are working on the record during the day.
Communion's Kevin Jones: "We wanted to do something a bit different and more challenging than just put on a bunch of cool gigs in a venue, and this definitely seems like a challenge.
"So many amazing artists are giving up their time to Communion and we're looking forward to hearing what comes out of these recording sessions as well as seeing some fantastic bands in a tiny venue. It's going to be chaotic, but definitely worth it!"
The resulting album is due to be released on vinyl and to download in the Autumn, with more artists yet to be announced over the course of the week.Entrance to the shows are free on a first come first served basis, with doors opening at 7pm.
