Various - Pacha Ibiza Classics

It may be peeing down outside, but you know for sure it's summer by the sheer number of dance compilations / mixes vying for your attention. Pacha Ibiza Classics does pretty much what you'd expect, ripping through the last 20 years of dance music and hitting on almost as many cheesy (if not necessarily unenjoyable) tunes as it does genuine classics. And so we go from the gorgeous MDMA-styled fluffiness of The Beloved's 'The Sun Rising' (~ 1990) to Dennis Ferrer's 'Hey Hey' (~ 2010) - which, having just returned from Ibiza, I'm pretty sure I never want to hear again. The problem isn't the variation in quality, more over-familiarity and the lack of imagination in putting it together. Pacha Ibiza Classics often feels like only two cherries away from Now Dance Classics.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
