The Smoking Hearts - Pride of Nowhere

Subtle is not a word that Smoking Hearts understand although, to be fair, I’m fairly certain that there are many words in common usage for which vocalist Lethal and guitarist Nobba are unsure of the precise definition. They are, need it be said, a dirty, grimy rock 'n' roll band who hope you all choke on your nine to five and who trash their instruments without a hint of irony. Musically, and I use the term in its loosest fashion, they follow in the footsteps of Discharge and Anti-Nowhere League with a dash of Amen thrown in for the sake of glamour. It is loud, disturbing and violent and, thus, the ideal vehicle for anyone to scream along to in a bid to rid themselves of the frustration and anger they feel at their humdrum existence. This is, as they point out, ‘A Message in a Molotov’ and you’ve now got three seconds to decide whose side are you on, brother?

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
