Irish quartet Raglans won the TMF Single of the Week back in August 2013. They’ve been building a solid following with support slots for big players like The Courteeners and Haim over the last twelve months and have finally signed a record deal to give their self-titled debut a proper release.

Their brand of indie pop has a refreshing bounce to it and former SOTW ‘Digging Holes’ is the perfect way to kick off. But it's also the high point on a collection that, for the most part, is a competent display that only throws in some very slight folk influences to sweeten the mix. ‘The Man From Glasgow’ is a late boost with its Arctic Monkeys edge, whilst elsewhere mentions of London and Dublin ground the album firmly in the UK and Ireland. Very much the kind of album you’ll listen to a few times while the sun is shining, the fields are green, and the flowers are blooming - but it may just be gathering dust come 2015.
