2010 in Review #16 - Ellie Goulding
It's not a deliberate editorial policy, it just happens that we like the ladies at TMF and 2010 has seen us cover what seems like an endless conveyor belt of hopefuls, many of whom we find a lot to enthuse about. We tipped Marina ... early on, but since then we've had Lissie, Eliza Doolittle, I Blame Coco, Izzi Dunn, Pixie Lott, The Like ..., most of whom have little in common beyond being pretty populist.
Ellie Goulding started 2010 with the weight of the BBC Sound of 2010 poll on her shoulders but her debut album Lights eased its way to number one in the charts. She later found time to contribute to Diana Vickers' album and a Xmas-led version of Elton John's 'Your Song' maintained her year-long profile. Of any of those mentioned, it's possibly Goulding who's in it for the long haul.
