Marvel meets Overwatch 2 in Marvel Rivals and now Wolverine, Cloak & Dagger, and more are revealled in new launch trailer

NetEase’s Overwatch competitor reveals five new free-to-play heroes, including fan favorites like Wolverine and Squirrel Girl.

The Marvel Rivals launch trailer has officially landed, and it brings with it an exciting roster expansion. NetEase Games, the developer of this Overwatch-style free-to-play multiplayer game, revealed five additional characters just days before the game’s release.

The latest additions include fan favorites like Wolverine and Black Widow, but also Cloak and Dagger, Squirrel Girl, Iron Fist, , pushing the playable roster to an impressive 33 heroes at launch. Best of all, NetEase has confirmed that every hero in Marvel Rivals will be free for all players.

The new trailer showcases each of the newly-announced heroes, with Cloak and Dagger appearing to function as a single, unified character. Although specific roles—Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist—haven’t been revealed yet, but we can’t wait to see how these heroes play when the game launches.

One of the trailer’s standout moments features Wolverine and Hulk teaming up for the iconic “fastball special,” a classic comic book move where Hulk flings Wolverine through the air at high speeds to devastating effect. Other confirmed pairings include Rocket Raccoon hopping on Groot’s shoulder for elevated gunfire.
