What is happening in MCU Phase 4? A new generation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is forming in the wake of Avengers: Endgame. Earth’s mightiest heroes are scattered, and now we have Disney Plus TV series to follow in addition to the regular movies.
Between WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, MCU Phase 4 got off to a strong start indeed. There’s a new Captain America, the multiverse is now spiralling out of control, and a team of not-so-good Avengers appears to be in the works, starting with John ‘US Agent’ Walker.
Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals have brought the franchise back to the big screen, and in the Black Widow post-credits scene, it was revealed that the same person who recruited John is looking to get at Hawkeye. The end of 2021 was exciting for the franchise, with the Hawkeye on Disney Plus, and in December, Spider-Man: No Way Home. What movies and TV series are in MCU Phase 4?
MCU Phase 4 has given us some of the wildest instalments in the franchise yet. So far we’ve had WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Eternals, Hawkeye, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Ms Marvel, and Thor: Love and Thunder
Many of these arrived in 2021, for a jam-packed year across Disney Plus and theatres. 2022 is no different, with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Disney Plus is still holding firm as well, with Moon Knight and Ms Marvel.

It was thought that Phase 4 could go on for quite some time, but at SDCC 2022 Kevin Feige announced that wasn’t the case. The phase ends with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in December. Then we’re onto Phase 5! All go.

Who’s in MCU Phase 4 cast?
We would be here all day listing everyone involved in the current Marvel movies, but needless to say, many of your old favourites are still knocking about, and with more than a few new additions. As mentioned, Florence Pugh is Yelena, the new Black Widow, and we have Hailee Steinfeld playing Kate Bishop in Hawkeye.
Iman Vellani is portraying Kamala ‘Ms Marvel’ Khan, Tatiana Maslany is tackling She-Hulk in that series, and Oscar Isaac will be playing Moon Knight. The Eternals welcomes an ensemble, led by Angelina Jolie, to the universe, and Shang-Chi heralds Simu Liu’s intro to the franchise as the titular hero, facing Tony Leung’s The Mandarin.

The last episode of Loki season 1 gave us Kang the Conqueror, as played by Jonathan Majors, and Jameela Jamil will be the rival of Jennifer Walters, Titania, in She-Hulk. Oscar Isaac joined the franchise as Moon Knight, opposite Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow. Mahershala Ali is confirmed to be playing Blade, and we’ve nothing just yet on Fantastic Four.
What’s next in MCU Phase 4?
The next instalment in the MCU is Werewolf By Night, coming to Disney Plus October 7, 2022. The big screen has just had Thor: Love and Thunder, with Chris Hemsworth as the famous Asgardian. Benedict Cumberbatch just starred in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness dealing with the fallout from Spider-Man: No Way Home, WandaVision, and Loki. The multiverse is getting messy! America Chavez is in tow, giving the good Doctor some company, at least.
