Canon G1x G series on 'roids

Canon takes a slight step away from the safe path it usually takes with its new update to the G series. Everything is bigger, the sensor, the body, the lens. the price tag.

This is a do it all kind of camera with a 4x zoom lens , albeit a slow one, and a sensor straight out of canons SLR selection.

Image quality and low light ability , even with the f2.8-5.8 lens , should be pretty decent , $800 seems steep but comparing it to the Fuji X100 its 2/3rds the price and (apart from the design) looks every bit as good.
