LEGO® Group has today announced the arrival of the latest LEGO Ideas set, The Pop-Up Book!
The launch of this brand-new LEGO Ideas set coincides with the 10th Anniversary of LEGO Ideas (8th November, 2018) and brings to life the classic fairy tales Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk in brick form for the first time. The set will be available directly from LEGO Stores and shop.LEGO.com from November 1st.
The innovative new addition to the LEGO Ideas collection features 859 bricks and lets fans build the famous scene of Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother’s cottage or swap the cottage for the giant’s castle in the clouds at the top of the beanstalk.
This new imaginative toy features a simple mechanism that pops up when the book open’s and the fairy tales come to life; close the book and the story folds away. The main scene and surrounding details can be completely personalized to tell any story; a cottage in the woods, jungle ruins, medieval castle, wild west building, space station or even a pirate ship.
It also includes four brand new LEGO Minifigures: Little Red Riding Hood, Grandmother, the Wolf, the Giant, and one new microfigure of Jack. As well as a booklet with a short history of pop-up books, a condensed history of each fairy tale in the set, information about its fan designers and LEGO designer.
2018 marks LEGO Ideas milestone 10 years of crowdsourcing and collaboration between LEGO Ideas (called LEGO CUUSOO until 2014) and LEGO fans around the world, of which Pop Up Book is the 23rd product to be made into an official LEGO set.
LEGO Ideas offers fans the opportunity to put forward their ideas for LEGO creation with the chance to have their concept brought to life with the help of LEGO master designers and a share of the profits. Here’s to the next 10 years.
