"Often they have been me and 3 people in a room staring at each other blankly" Idle chit-chat with Red Richardson

Hey Red, how the hell are you?

Good thanks!

What have you been up to today?

Sitting around my flat in shorts doing nothing.

At this point I would usually moan about the state of your website but you haven’t got one. So what to do. Right, in the style of a haiku, tell us about you.

cool guy, good at comedy

very bad at poems and definitely not good at haikus

wears shorts

Describe your comedy style.

Bleak, anecdotal satire.

Tell us what you can about your new show for the Fringe, ‘Seeing Red’, in two sentences?

It's about being called Red, being raised in a drug-fuelled hippie town and nearly getting the role of Harry Potter at the age of ten.

Gotta ask… Red, is it short for Redmond?

How many times have you been to the Fringe, and what’s your best memory?

'This is my 3rd time, I did the 'So You Think You're Funny' final in 2015 and that was fun.

How are your preview shows going?

Often they have been me and 3 people in a room staring at each other blankly.

Practically every comedian has a podcast these days, have you? And if not, what would its premise?

If I knew that I would have one.

What TV show do you literally dream about being on?

Match Of The Day.

How was writing for Devon Life?

It was really good as my mum and grandma read it so I was pleased that they would see it and be proud.

You’re a big user of Twitter, so is it a place for genuine discussion and debate by well informed individuals or a smorgasbord of vile humans arguing with each other?

It’s full of twats competing to be the biggest twat, I hate it and it has made almost everyone insane.

Tell us a charity we should support. And why.

Shelter; homeless people should have more support.

When was the last time you were starstruck?

I did a piss in a urinal next to Paul Mcartney once, that was a big day. Probably my fav piss ever.

What other comedian is worth checking out?

Eshaan Akbar.

What’s the question we should have asked you today but haven’t?

Why do you smell so nice?

Finally, how do you take your coffee?

Milk, no sugar.
