Children of the 70s and 80s - prepare to relive your nightmares as Usborne announce they are to reissue 'Ghosts'
If there's one book that sends the shivvers down the spine of anyone who read it in their childhood in the late 70s and into the 80s, it's Ghosts. And we've got great news for you - it's returning as Usborne are set to reissue the book with a new forward by Reece Shearsmith.
The book - the cover alone of which will be enough to reignite old fears - has been out of print for two decades but will be returning to shelves and school libraries near you from 3rd October with a retail price of £7.99.
Reece Shearsmith said "When I was a child growing up in the 1970s, I was very much obsessed with horror, the supernatural and all things strange. My discovery of the Usborne World of the Unknown series in the school library came as such a blessing, seemingly targeted specifically for me and dedicated to everything I was fascinated by. As I grew older and forged a career writing and starring in such darkly comic TV shows as “The League of Gentlemen”, “Psychoville” and “Inside No. 9” I realise I am indebted to this book. I am certain I found the Usborne book of Ghosts at just the right age. It’s macabre contents stayed with me my whole life. Shaped it even."
