Archos to release kiddy-friendly ICS Tablet

There's no shortage of toddler-friendly tablets, but this is the first one we'd spend our own cash on. The Archos ChildPad is a budget-priced tablet based around Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich), with the added sheen of child friendly themes and more parental control.

Technically, it's quite an impressive beast for the money - 7 inches corner-to-corner the tablet features a 1024x600 resolution, a 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM. It is set to hit shelves at a reasonable £99 (US price $129.99). The ChildPad comes with 28 kid-friendly apps pre-installed with access to a Kids App Store featuring a further 10,000 of the blighters. You can also download books, comics and other multimedia making this a good all-round device.

It certainly appears far more capable than the likes of the LeapPad Explorer and VTech InnoTab. The ChildPad will hit shelves this month.
