Amazon is set to merge the Fire TV and Echo lines with the Fire TV Cube

Rumours have been going around for some time regarding a new Fire TV device coming from Amazon. The current line-up consists of the Fire TV Stick and 4K Fire TV, but soon the company will unveil their newest model - the Fire TV Cube - which we believe having spoken to those in the know, is a device which combines an Amazon Echo speaker with the 4K Fire TV Dongle.

The image above, shared by AFTV News, shows the new device alongside the existing dongle. AFTV News also uncovered a secret holding page on the Amazon website.

Having spoken to Amazon, AFTV News were unable to get further clarity on what the product is, but we've made our own enquiries and our contact tells us that the Fire TV Cube is a full 4K Fire TV with an inbuilt Echo speaker similar to that of the Echo Dot and the full Alexa experience. The device will also offer Echo Show functionality via your TV.

Current Fire TV devices already incorporate Alexa via the voice remote but this is a step further in creating one all-round Echo/Fire TV solution.

We don't have a release date yet but expect the device to be officially unveiled very soon with a US release to follow initially before a wider international release later in 2018.
