Chromecast has landed in the UK

Google's long awaited Chromecast dongle has finally landed in the UK. Retailing at £30 in Currys PC World and on the Google Play store, the HDMI device allows you to 'cast' select apps directly to your TV rather than your smartphone or tablet.

It supports all of Google's own media suite and has also brought in support for iPlayer and the UK version of Netflix. Further apps will be added over time.

Look out for our review in the coming days.

Netflix is an American entertainment company founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph on August 29, 1997, in Scotts Valley, California. It specialises in and provides streaming media and video-on-demand online. In 2013, Netflix expanded into film and television production, as well as online distribution.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
