Those poor bees - first pesticides, now diesel...

The common bee has had a pretty hard time of it of late - declining numbers have had conservationists, scientists and honey fans all worried and while various causes have been identified so far it seems that bee colonies continue to struggle.

The latest possible cause is the rise in diesel engines - see the emissions from such engines disrupt the bee's ability to find flowers, and therefore gather pollen. This obviously makes it harder for the bees to feed. Diesel engines are growing in popularity - especially for end consumers and the number of diesel cars on the road continues to increase so if proven accurate this latest theory doesn't paint a pretty picture...
