Red Dead Redemption 2 - Brand New Trailer

Platforms: Microsoft Xbox One | Sony PlayStation 4

As we rapidly approach E3 it is only natural for Rockstar to go against the grain with trailer outside of the main event. There doesn't appear to be any gameplay footage unfortunately but there are plenty of nods to the first game, which is the sequel, in there for those familiar with it. The description that the developers put up is this:

America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.

So it looks like there will be a lot of excuses for some more fantastic wild west gameplay and probably some more morally questionable achievements for people to get too. As long as we can all play some dice games again we will be happy, although the real question is whether or not this can stand up to Grand Theft Auto V and it's unprecedented success. While there will be a multiplayer mode we haven't got many details on it just yet, all we know is that it will be a brand new multiplayer experience, probably a Battle Royale mode if the current gaming landscape is anything to go by. The game releases on 26th October on PS4 and Xbox One.
