The Pokémon Company has announced a new entry in the Pokémon Rumble series, Pokémon Rumble Rush.
The free-to-start beat-'em-up is heading to iOS and Android soon, but is already available for download for Android users in Australia through Google Play. Players will be able to purchase in-game items using real-world money.
Pokémon Rumble Rush sees players discovering new islands and the Pokémon that reside on them. Using their partner Pokémon, players will face hordes of enemy Pokémon that aim to stop the player from further exploring the islands. Attacking the waves of enemies requires that players tap the screen to order their partner Pokémon to attack each wave.
During battle, there is a chance that enemy Pokémon will befriend the player and join their team for future battles.
'Super Boss' fights cap off every island the player visits, and Pokémon power-ups will be the reward for victory in these battles.
Pokémon Rumble Rush features "hundreds of species of Pokémon", presumably every Pokémon generation will be represented. Players will be able to take part in special events too.
There is no date for Pokémon Rumble Rush outside of Australia, but I would anticipate release not being too far away.
