Sony have caught the Nintendo bug
Sony have clearly been taking tips from Nintendo with their announcement of the PlayStation Classic – the mini console with replica controllers and twenty top games built in.
The new device improves on the original with an HDMI interface too meaning crystal clear visuals on your HD TV. The PlayStation Classic outputs in 480p and 720p resolution and isn’t compatible with old PlayStation memory cards. According to Sony, there will be no option to add further games to the console – no downloads or support for physical discs, which replicates the Nintendo classic consoles but is disappointing all-the-same.
The console is powered via a Micro USB port.
The games that are included are some of the original PlayStation’s best including Final Fantasy VII, Ridge Racer Type 4 and Tekken 3. Check out the launch trailer above. We don’t have the full list just yet.
The PlayStation Classic will hit shelves on 3rd December with a retail price of £89.99 in the UK.
Sega – if you’re reading this PLEASE give us a Dreamcast Classic, this would make us very happy.
