VR is coming to the Nintendo Switch…in cardboard? Nintendo just announced the latest in its Labo series of accessories for its highly successful hybrid console. Nintendo Labo VR will use the magic of cardboard to turn the Switch into a DIY virtual reality headset.
As with past Labo releases, Labo VR buyers will have a few options to choose from. The complete Nintendo Labo VR kit will cost $79.99 and will include six different kits such as a pair of VR goggles, a camera, a blaster, and, apparently, an elephant. A Starter Kit will also be available with just the goggles and blaster at $39.99 which can be expanded with other kits at $20 each at a later time. Both kits will also include the Labo VR software, a screen holder, and safety cap.
The software naturally will include games as well as step-by-step setup instructions and the even more intriguing Garage Mode which will allow users to make their own Labo creations. Don’t expect to be able to play any of the available AAA games, though (RIP Breath of the Wild VR).
Nintendo Labo VR release is just around the corner on April 12th.
