Need For Speed Heat officially announced, launching in November, first gameplay revealedPlatforms: Sony PlayStation 4 | Microsoft Xbox One | PC
In a livestream today, EA announced the next iteration in the Need For Speed franchise, called Need For Speed Heat, releasing November 8th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Check out the very pretty official trailer below, which features a few snippets of gameplay. The game's full gameplay reveal is coming next week, August 19th during Gamescom on Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live stream.
Need For Speed Heat is set in Palm City, an original, brand-new open world taken over by street racers, with a rogue police task force aims to take back your streets.
There isn't a great deal more information, but a preorder page for the game reveals more information about the story, gameplay, and day/night changes.
"Hustle by day and risk it all at night in Need for Speed HEAT, a white-knuckle street racer, where the lines of the law fade as the sun starts to set. By day, Palm City hosts the Speedhunter Showdown, a sanctioned competition where you earn Bank to customize and upgrade your high-performance cars. At night, ramp up the intensity in illicit street races that build your reputation, getting you access to bigger races and better parts. But stay ready – cops are waiting and not all of them play fair."
Riley Cooper, creative director at developer Ghost Games, was keen to stress they are listening to the fans. "We’re delivering more options than ever before for players to be unique and make themselves known. Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customisation, and more challenges, and we’re tuning up on every aspect. From your character’s style to your car’s performance and your driving style, we’re fuelling everyone’s creativity with this new game" says Cooper.
Need For Speed Heat launches on Origin Access Premier/Play First Trial on November 5th, and November 8th worldwide for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
