NetherRealm Studios have released the official launch trailer for the latest bone-crushing entry in the Mortal Kombat franchise, Mortal Kombat 11, which releases on April 23rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Ninendo Switch.
The trailer feature some cinematic story elements as well as some of that lovely fast and brutal battling we've come to know and love from Mortal Kombat.

Today's press release from Warner Bros. and NetherRealm gives a brief synopsis of the story in Mortal Kombat 11:
"Kronika, the Keeper of Time, has signaled for a new era to begin as she tries to rewind time to its beginning and restart history. In order to restore balance to the realms, players must take on the role of numerous fighters from different eras, culminating in the ultimate generational clash as current characters collide with their past selves."
Mortal Kombat 11's confirmed list of fighters is as follows:
Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Skarlet, Baraka, Geras, Kano, D'Vorah, Kabal, Jade, Johnny Cage, Cassie Cage, Erron Black, Jacqui Briggs, Kotal Kahn, Noob Saibot, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Jax Briggs, Cetrion, The Kollector, Kitana and Shao Kahn.
This list will continue to grow after launch.
NetherRealm are hosting a Kombat Kast livestream on Monday, April 22nd at 9pm BST where they will be showing the next gameplay reveal for Mortal Kombat 11. That will be available on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Mixer.
