Max Payne Release Slips

Platforms: Microsoft Xbox 360 | PC | Sony PlayStation 3

Rockstar Games have confirmed that gamers will have to wait a little longer for Max Payne 3. The game, which was due to hit in March, has slipped to a May 18th release in Europe for the PS3 and 360 whilst PC gamers will have to wait until the 1st of June.

“We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly, and this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our company,” said Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. “Max Payne 3 promises to be one of our most exciting releases to date, and we are confident that consumers will once again be amazed by Rockstar’s ability to take interactive entertainment to another level.”

While gamers will not have to wait too much longer for the game than first planned it will have a knock on effect for parent company Take Two. They are now expected to report a net loss for the 2012 fiscal year.

Given that gamers have had to wait nearly ten years for the next Max Payne game the slight delay shouldn't be to hard to stomach for fans.
