Marvel’s Avengers coming to Google Stadia as game is finally confirmed to be multi-platform

Update: Marvel’s Avengers has been officially revealed with a 3 minute story trailer at the Square Enix E3 press conference. The trailer features tiny snippets of gameplay, and shows off the heroes you will play as initially. Check out our rundown of all the news, including the release date, from the Marvel’s Avengers reveal right here.

Original story: Since the announcement of Marvel’s Avengers back in January 2017, one question has been worrying fans, will it be another Marvel game exclusive to one platform?

Well, a giant Marvel’s Avengers poster on the LA Convention Center at E3 2019 has just confirmed that the game will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and interestingly, Google Stadia. The Marvel’s Avengers Twitter posted this image:

There was concern about platform exclusivity for Marvel’s Avengers due to the clear willingness of Marvel to strike an exclusivity deal. Marvel’s Spider-Man was a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Many were wondering if Microsoft were going to swoop in and snatch Marvel’s Avengers as an Xbox One exclusive.

Luckily, exclusivity isn’t playing a role this time, and everyone will be getting a chance to play the highly-anticipated superhero jaunt.

Interestingly, a deal with Google to bring Marvel’s Avengers to Stadia has already been struck, so it seems that Google Stadia is simply going to part of the furniture from now on.

Marvel’s Avengers is getting a worldwide reveal at E3 2019 on Tuesday morning, that’s June 11th at 2am for those in the UK. Be sure to tune in here for all the latest news about the game. You can watch the broadcast live on the Square Enix website, YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer.

A leaked description that appeared on the E3 Coliseum website last week revealed that Marvel’s Avengers will feature “continuous single-player and cooperative gameplay”, with the ability to ‘assemble’ up to four players.

The Square Enix E3 2019 showcase can’t come soon enough.
