Nintendo’s royal rumble of gaming’s most iconic characters will be receiving an update this Spring. Not much has been said about what will be included in Version 3.0 but more new is on the way. We did, however, get a quick look at Joker’s model and he’s looking as stylish as ever. Stand by for more news.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

The Nintendo Switch version of Toad and Toadette’s treasure hunting adventure will receive two updates. One will be free making all available course co-opable. A demo containing the game’s first course will be available today on the eShop. The game is just around the corner, releasing March 29th.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

The big headliner of the Direct, Three Houses is looking like a stellar game packed with plenty of content. Players will take control of a male or female protagonist who will be tasked with running an academy for students coming from the three different regions of the land. Students can either train at the academy or be sent on missions to improve their skills and become stronger. Students can also interact whilst at the academy to strengthen their relationship bonds. The game is looking like a blend between a management game and a classic Fire Emblem. Though originally targetting a Spring release, the game will be releasing on July 26th but the wait will surely be worth it.

Make it rain!

Two More Things…

Nintendo didn’t just leave us with all of these announcements. They dropped two more bombshells for us to salivate over. Astral Chain is an anime-style action sci-fi game currently in development by Platinum Games. The highly stylish trailer showed off two characters fighting together using technology to summon weapons and robotic aids to fight monsters and other enemies. The game looks and feels like it has the expected Platinum Games fierce and stylish action. To close it all of, Nintendo also showed off a trailer for a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. A mix between top-down and side-scrolling action, the game is being remade for the Nintendo Switch in cute 3D graphics with lots of cartoony style and flair.

This was a big Direct and an incredible way to kick off 2019 for Switch. There are tons to look forward to on the platform as the hype train keeps on rolling!
