Gaming legend Mike Singleton passes away

Platforms: All

It is with great sadness that we have to report on the passing of a UK game industry legend. Mike Singleton, a highly regarded game programmer and designer who created some of the most fondly remembered games of the 8/16-bit era including the likes of Lords of Midnight, Carrier Command and Midwinter.

Singleton, who died on 10th October aged just 61 has left an indelible mark on gaming the world over. He had been fighting cancer for the last year and was one of the few 'names' from the golden era of bedroom programmers who still had an active role in the industry right through to the current console generation. His final gaming project was the well-received racer GRiD for Codemasters.

Rest in peace Mike...
