The Digital Fix’s Fighting Game of Winter-een-mas 2012 is...

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3!

Released just recently in November 2011 and packed to the rafters with all kinds of extra characters - along with the same crazy, fun and deep fighting mechanics seen in earlier releases, Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 was an easy choice as The Digital Fix's fighting game this year. It's got many layers to it meaning you can of course go super-expert and learn the mechanics and combos and various inputs to become the best but you can also pick it up, play it and have a massive amount of fun either in single player or local and online multiplayer. It's just raw entertainment - especially given some of the characters.

We let Capcom know that we were awarding Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 The Digital Fix's Fighting game of Winter-een-mas award 2012 and this is what the UK PR Manager, Adam Merrett, had to say in response:

“We’re elated at Capcom to find out that Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 has been crowned fighting game of the year, it’s great to see how much love there is for the franchise. I’d like to see it as a reflection that characters with interesting fighting mechanics, such as Phoenix Wright are a welcomed addition to the huge roster!”

Exactly. How can a fighting game which has Phoenix Wright in it amongst many others be anything less than enormous fun?

To celebrate Winter-een-mas 2012 we at The Digital Fix are supporting a fantastically deserving charity - Child's Play. Child's Play seeks to improve the lives of children in hospitals around the world through the kindness and generosity of the video game industry and the power of play. When gamers give back, it makes a difference!
