Fortnite will lose its Playground Mode when Season 5 starts - but it will return

Platforms: All

Ah Playground Mode, we only just met and you're shortly to leave our company. Epic have confirmed that the debut of Fortnite Season Five on 12th July will see the Playground Mode vanish; but it WILL return with improvements at an unspecified later date.

The updates that we can expect when it does reappear include:

  • 1v1s and 2v2s
  • Aim assist for controllers
  • Editing other player's structures
  • Traps affecting teammates/enemies correctly
  • Highlighting teammates on the map
  • Damaging enemies with your pickaxe

There will be more updates in the future as Epic intend to make Playground Mode a fully creative sandbox suite going forward.

Fortnite Battle Royale will enter its fifth season on 12th July and will hopefully explain just what the huge rift has in store - current datamining finding suggest that multiple time periods might well play a part.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help.
