EA Access launching on PlayStation 4 in July

Hold onto your shiny Stormtrooper helmets, everyone! EA announced today that they will be bringing their subscription service, EA Access, to the PlayStation 4. Gamers on Sony’s highly successful console will be able to enjoy the benefits on their favorite platform from this coming July.

The service comes in monthly (£3.99) and annual (£19.99) flavors, both of which grant Access (intended) to a “growing library of EA games”, including franchises like Battlefield, FIFA, and Star Wars Battlefront. Buying into the service also includes a 10% discount on “full game purchases, in-game items, expansions, and more”. Not enough? Subscribers can also enjoy up to 10-hour trials of most new EA games via the included Play First Trials service.

Matt Bilbey, Executive VP of Strategic Growth, states “Our goal is to give players more choice to try and play our games wherever and however they choose and we’re happy to bring the service to PlayStation 4”. It’s an exciting prospect, especially for PS4 owners who are already paying the annual EA Sports “subscription” with its yearly iterations. There are also other amazing games in the aforementioned growing library, including my personal favorite, Titanfall 2.

We’ll be keeping our ear to the ground so stay tuned here for more on EA Access as it makes its way to PlayStation 4 this summer.
