Sony confirm they will not be attending E3 2020Platforms: Sony PlayStation 4 | Sony PSVR | Sony PlayStation 5
Sony have confirmed that they'll be stepping back from E3 for a second year, despite the looming launch of the PlayStation 5. In a statement released to GamesIndustry.biz, the company said "After thorough evaluation SIE has decided not to participate in E3 2020. We have great respect for the ESA as an organization, but we do not feel the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue for what we are focused on this year."
With the new PlayStation 5 heading for release this winter, PlayStation fans will have to rely on third party publishers for any news of games for the new platform at this year's gaming convention. Sony will instead be focusing on their own events and announcements on their own timetable.
Microsoft on the other hand have confirmed they will be attending E3 2020 so we can expect more information on the next generation plans for Xbox.
