Below has a release date - and it looks like it was worth the five year wait

Platforms: PC | Microsoft Xbox One

The gorgeous top-down procedurally generated Below is finally coming to PC and Xbox One on 14th December following a massive five years in development. It sees your adventurer arrive on an unexplored island and set about exploring the depths and caverns that you find.

It adds the interesting concept of actual death to the game - if your character dies, you don't return in that body but instead a new adventurer arrives on the island. The effects you've had on the environment persist but your character starts afresh.

Check out the trailer above for more of an idea of what to expect.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
