Bethesda E3 2018 - All Trailers and Announcements
Bethesda has been showing off its latest titles RAGE 2 and Fallout 76 before its E3 2018 conference last night, and had a few extra surprises up its sleeve during its conference. If you missed the conference, fret not as all the latest news and trailers are gathered below for you!
The Elder Scrolls VI
Let's start with the biggest news shall we? During their conference, Bethesda announced that they are indeed working on The Elder Scrolls VI. They released a rather simple teaser trailer which explains very little about the game, its setting or story, but we're pumped and can't wait to find out more. Although we expect The Elder Scrolls VI won't be arriving on this generation of consoles!
Leaked a couple of weeks before E3 2018, RAGE 2 is the surprising sequel to 2011's post-apocalyptic first-person shooter RAGE. While the original trailer was nothing more than CGI trailer aimed at whetting our appetite, the RAGE 2 gameplay trailer revealed last night was all sorts of amazing. The game is expected to ship around spring 2019 and will also come with a Deluxe and $120 Collector's Edition if that's your sort of thing!
In an exciting announcement, Bethesda revealed that a sequel to the Doom reboot is in the works. The announcement was made alongside the first trailer, with more details promised during QuakeCon in August.
Quite a lot of information about Bethesda's Fallout 76 title was revealed during Microsoft's conference a few hours earlier, and through online speculation since the game's official announcement earlier in the week. However, Bethesda's conference dropped a ton of new gameplay details about title, with the biggest news being that the game will be online only, although the game can apparently be played solo. They also revealed that the game will be hitting shelves on November 14 2018. Oh, and the game will come with an expensive, but amazing Power Armour Edition which includes a wearable T-51b helmet, glow-in-the-dark terrain map, 24 figurines, canvas West Tek duffel bag, and much more, all for the low price of £175!
Bethesda revealed during their conference a completely new IP called Starfield. Not much information about the game was available, bar the space setting, but Bethesda did say that Starfield is a third open-world pillar next to Fallout and Elder Scrolls, and will be the studio's “first wholly original franchise in 25 years.”
The Elder Scrolls Blades
Not related to The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda also announced a new mobile game called The Elder Scrolls Blades. Bethesda has stated that the game is "a massive first person RPG with console quality graphics, but with a uniquely mobile experience." The title is expected to arrive on PC and VR at some point, so won't just be mobile only. The game is expected to launch for free later this year, and gamers can register for free early access now.
Wolfenstein 2: Youngblood
During their conference, Bethesda announced Wolfenstein 2: Youngblood, a new co-op shooter experience set in Paris in the 1980s starring BJ Blazkowicz’s twin daughters. The game is expected to launch in 2019.
Wolfhunter and Murkmire DLC - Elder Scrolls Online
In more great news for Elder Scrolls fans, Bethesda also announced two new DLC packs for Elder Scrolls Online - Wolfhunter and Murkmire. Both sets are expected to launch later this year.
Continuing the DLC theme, Bethesda also revealed a new piece of DLC for Prey called Mooncrash. Featuring an infinitely replayable rogue-like mode, Mooncrash will see players trying to escape a TranStar moon base. Players will be able to enjoy a unique experience with each playthrough as enemy encounters, loot and challenges will be different each time.
Mooncrash can be purchased for $19.99, or as part of the Prey: Digital Deluxe edition. No release date was given.
The base Prey game will also benefit from a new upgrade which will include three new modes for gamers to enjoy: Story Mode, Survival mode, and New Game +.
Finally, a new multiplayer update called Typhon Hunter will be released later this summer where one player fights off five other shaping-shifting Mimic aliens. Typhon Hunter will be free for players who purchase Mooncrash.
Elder Scrolls Legends
In futher Elder Scrolls news, Bethesda also announced that Elder Scrolls Legends would be relaunching and in the process boasting completely revamped visuals. Bethesda also revealed that Elder Scrolls Legends is also coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Fans of Quake Champions were treated to a new trailer that shows off some of the game's playable characters. Bethesda also revealed that from June 10-17 there’s also a free Quake Champions trial ahead of the game's release later this year.
