Want to see what a Sith Luke or Leia might have looked like? This old Battlefront 4 concept art reveals all

More on Star Wars

If you've ever imagined what the Star Wars universe may have looked like if the Darth Vader was on the Light side of the Force and his son had turned Dark? Wonder no more - this Star Wars Battlefront 4 concept art gives us a good idea of what we could have expected.

Even though Battlefront 3 was canned just before release, it turns out that the creative minds were already at work planning what the next instalment might bring - and it is clearly a shame that we never got to see these plans realised.

Our pick of the bunch is the Jedi take on Leia imagining what she'd be like if she'd embraced that hokey religion like the rest of her family.

Then there's our look at what Anakin may have looked like if he had switch sides a little earlier - both concepts are based on Hayden Christensen's take on the character and not on Sebastian Shaw (who played the character in the closing moments of Return of the Jedi).

Below you can see the older Anakin - his hair resembling the Vader helmet, but with a lighter outfit signifying his switch back from the Dark Side.

Finally, we'll share the concept of Dark Luke - his face scarred and gaunt, clearly having been subjected to the Dark Side of the Force for far too long.

There is a huge treasure trove of further concept art over on Imgur prepare to lose a couple hours exploring it all - other highlights include a very angry looking Mace Windu, various takes on a Sith Obi-wan, a particularly Sithy Leia and even a good version of a non-Darth Maul.

Star Wars

Star Wars is a science fiction film series created by George Lucas. It debuted in 1977 and the first film was quickly retitled to Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. It was followed by two sequels - The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Return of the Jedi in 1983. A trilogy of prequel films were launched in 1999 with The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. In 2015 Star Wars returned to the screens for a new trilogy under the control of Disney with The Force Awakens directed by J J Abrams.

A series of spin-offs were launched in 2016 with Gareth Edwards' Rogue One and 2017 will see the second film in the new trilogy, Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi.

Another spin-off will be released in 2018 - Solo - which tells the story of Han Solo before the original Star Wars film and 2019 will round off the third trilogy with the untitled Episode IX.

A fourth trilogy of films has been announced for release after 2020 which will be overseen by Rian Johnson and they will feature entirely new characters and an entirely separate story.

In addition, there are the TV series The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels and a new as yet untitled live action series due to debut some time after 2020.
