More Max Payne 3 details as site launches
Anticipation ahead of Max Payne 3's release continues to build with the news that Rockstar games have launched the official Max Payne 3 website as well as a collection of new media and videos. The latest of which is a look at the staggering firepower of the 608 Bull revolver.
Perhaps more interestingly on the Max Payne 3 website is the featured videos revealing some of the finer points behind the game including the revamped control and targeting system. The run and gun action looks particularly impressive and it is an area that Rockstar set out to try and put a new spin on. Judging by the videos on the Max Payne 3 website it appears to be shaping up as a success with the player seemingly able to twist in a variety of different directions whilst maintaining full control.
The idea behind much of the revamped control system appears to be that the player controls the aiming reticule first and foremost with Max's motion and animation following the intended line of sight for a particular system. It will be interesting to see how this works in practice but the videos are looking impressive none the less.
Elsewhere the duel wielding of weapons returns with a new twist with Max able to use a variety of different combinations of weapons to create some devastating effects. The videos also reveal far more of the game in action, including a very brief look at the new cover system, and it would appear the recent slip from March to May will be worth it.
We've also made sure to gather up some of the latest screen shots which are below.
